Sony has released a teaser trailer for its upcoming Sony Xperia i1 flagship ahead of a launch on September 4 in Berlin.

Showing off various obscure angles of the Sony Xperia i1, the video states the Japanese electronics manufacturer will show off “the best of Sony” on September 4.

“Think you know what a smartphone can do? It’s time to think again”, reads official YouTube blurb. “Something, something extraordinary is on the way from Sony. Be amongst the first to get the latest.”

The video showcases the rear camera of the Xperia i1, which is said to pack a 21.7-megapixel Sony Exmore RS sensor and a Sony G Lens. This has been seemingly confirmed by the G logo next to the rear camera seen in the video.

The signature power button is on display too, along with the smartphone’s waterproof capabilities.

Sony teased the Xperia i1 launch on its official twitter feed earlier this month too, so the hype is definitely building around this smartphone ahead of its September 4 launch.

Sony Xperia i1 Rumours
The Sony Xperia i1 specs have been the subject of many an online rumour in the past few months. They suggest the camera-centric smartphone will have the super-speedy 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM, powered by a 3000mAh battery.

With internal storage tipped to be around the 16GB mark, it will be bolstered by a microSD card slot.

Complementing the hefty rear-facing camera is a 2-megapixel offering with an Exmor R sensor.

It seems that, like the Xperia Tablet ZXperia Z and Xperia Z Ultra, the Sony Xperia i1 will have NFC connectivity, IP55 and IP57 certifications to boot.
